Allegan Event Z!P to Open in Michigan

Participants can fly over the Kalamazoo River in Michigan on the new Allegan Event Z!P.

In Allegan, Mich., a premier adventure attraction, Allegan Event Z!P, was to open June 10. Participants were to fly over the Kalamazoo River during the city’s annual downtown Bridgefest.

“We’re thrilled to bring adventure to our city that will entice people from all over the state to check out Allegan,” said Jim Liggett, owner of Ropes Courses, Inc. “This attraction was long overdue and the buzz of the activity here will be very exciting to witness …right in our own backyard.”

The CTS Zip Line stretches 1,200 feet. Participants climb the main structure on the river’s north bank at Riverfront Plaza and soar close to 55 feet over the water. It stretches 600 feet across the river to a smaller structure, where riders land and prepare for another zip back to the main 45 foot tall structure.

Participants can exit by descending the stairs or continue the adventure on the QUICKjump for the ultimate free-fall experience from 55 feet in the air off of the same structure.

The attractions are designed for all levels, including beginners, and riders must be at least 42 inches tall and weigh under 285 pounds to participate. Guests are outfitted with a full body harness and a redundant sling line that is hooked into the tracking system at the launch platform for their soaring adventure in the sky. A waiver of liability is not required to participate.
