IAAPA Attractions Expo Attendees Will Be Able to Ride the Patent-pending Mobile Zip Line that Features Several Safety Innovations
Spectrum Sports International will formally debut the first commercially available HYPERLINK “http://www.spectrumsports.com/prod-zipline-mob.php”mobile zip line at the 2011 IAAPA Attractions Expo. The introduction follows three years of product development, a complete engineering review, and a season of testing in four markets.
“There is a growing interest in zip lines in the amusement industry,” said company President Rod Leishman. “This new product allows mobile operators to capitalize on that trend by bringing the experience to the masses. It’s proven to be a very profitable attraction in our test markets”
The Mobile Zip Line employs several innovative features. The Rotating Safety Gate eliminates fall exposure until riders are attached to the zip line. The “Auto-Retract™ stopping device allows riders to travel at an unrestricted speed before automatically slowing the ride. It then returns the gear to the top of the zip line tower for the next rider. Several elements of the new attraction are patent-pending.
The Mobile Zip Line is 28’ tall and features two zip lines that are 130’ long each. IAAPA Attractions Expo attendees will have the opportunity to see and ride the new zip line in Orlando, Fla.
