Bay Tek has announced the asset acquisition of the Chalfont, Pa.-based organization, Skee-Ball. After months of communication and fact-finding the deal was made official on February 23.
“For 31 years we at Skee-Ball have supplied the amusement industry with quality that withstands the test of time. It is at this time that we choose to take a different path and hand the Skee-Ball reins over to the good people at Bay Tek. It is a bittersweet goodbye, but we know our customers are in good hands. After all, Skee-Ball is, and will always remain, the game they keep coming back to,” said Joe Sladek.
“We have a lot of respect for the Skee-Ball company, its people, and the brand that it carries. We want to celebrate and leverage that and we are eager to see how our capabilities can take the brand to the next level,” said Gaetan Philippon, Bay Tek Games CEO. “We are also excited to announce that Darnelle Simmons will be joining the Bay Tek family effective immediately.”
It will be business as usual for the time being. Operations are being transitioned to the Pulaski, Wis., headquarters over the next several months. While not all of Skee-Ball’s current games will remain available after the transition, Bay Tek will be working hard to take care of customer needs. Both parties will work with customers during this acquisition to ensure minimal disruption. With the acquisition, effective immediately, Bay Tek will be rebranding its recently launched alley lanes, Fireball Fusion to Skee-Ball. “These new alleys bring a modern meets classic look to the industry. The new Skee-Ball alleys are ready to ship now from Bay Tek,” Philippon said.
