November 2001 – A Message from the ILTA Executive Director

Dear Readers,
With fall submitting to winter, it is a forgone conclusion that about all of our operators are moving into their busiest season.  From winter until spring arrives in full bloom, birthday parties are filling up your rooms and active teenagers should be milling about waiting for the next game of laser tag.  All of this action fills your coffers, but likely finds you tearing out your hair!
For those of you who do not know me, I am the new Executive Director of the ILTA.  With over 15 years in the industry, I hope I can share my knowledge and experience with those of you new to the industry as well as help out some of you other long timers like myself.  If I can learn more along the way, even better!
With my entrance into the Association, you can expect to see a number of new products and services available well before the end of the year.  We have a number of new manuals already available on our website, and with luck, we will have also increased the value of our membership packages.  I am already hard at work with Eric Gaizat, our Membership Services Director, on a number of new services that should also prove incredibly useful across the board.
But, none of what we do here at the ILTA accomplishes much if we don’t have your input. We are eager to hear about what new products and services you need us to provide.  We can only serve those who speak up, so please send us an e-mail or give us a call soon to let us know what we can do for you.
Take a look at our article in the upcoming pages and let us know what you think.  Marketing and promotions is always a difficult hurdle for many operators to jump.  It never gets easy and does require work, but hopefully we have managed to give some starting ideas to move forward with.  We want every laser tag center to be successful and will explore every avenue we can to make your work easier.
In closing, I look forward to working with as many of our operators, new and old, that I can.  Don’t hesitate to contact us if you need anything at all.  If you have any questions about the association and how we can help you, please visit us online.
Ryan McQuillen
Executive Director, ILTA
