Resort Is First in China to Install a Deep Water Standing Wave Machine

The five-star Hainan’s Qizibay Grand New Century Resort has 600 rooms, 1,500 dining seats, and also houses a waterpark including a 20-meter-long, 7-meter-wide SurfStream standing wave system by American Wave Machines.

Hainan China SurfingThe attraction can create 1-to-3-foot waves. The resort is the first hotel or resort in China and Southeast Asia to have installed a deep water standing wave machine.

The resort’s General Manager Jin Taizhi said it is safer and easier to surf in a pool than in the ocean. “A novice surfer can have the same fun without having to go though stringent training programs,” Taizhi said.
