News from the International Association of Fairs and Expositions (IAFE)

Marla  Calico, director of education at the International Association of Fairs and Expositions (IAFE), was inducted into the IAFE Hall of Fame at its convention last November. Calico is the former general manager of the Ozark Empire Fair in Springfield, Mo.

Also at the convention, the 2012 Heritage Award winners were announced. The winners were Joseph Bolchoz of the Coastal Carolina Fair; Bill Marohl of the Vernon County Fair; Donald McCroskey of the Cabell County Fair and West Virginia Pumpkin Festival; Steve Patterson of the Hendrick’s County 4-H Fair and Bob Schlutz of the Louisa County Fair.

Additionally, Jayme Buttke was recognized with The Rising Star Award. The award was created by the IAFE Young Professionals Initiative (YPI) to recognize leadership and industry contributions of  IAFE members age 40 and younger.
