Kitchen Workhorses – The Hardest-Working Equipment

April 5, 2012 No Comments
  1. THE GRILL. Today, grills can be used to cook up everything from hot sandwiches to fresh meats to top salads and other specialties. Many cooks at fun centers are finding creative ways to introduce healthier food alternatives using grills, especially for picky kids.
  2. THE PIZZA OVEN. Whether the pizza is frozen or made from scratch, a pizza oven, available in single and in larger, professional sizes, is a must at fun centers. While some centers offer pizza buffets, requiring professional-size ovens to keep up with demand, still others manage well with small, single-serving ovens that can heat up frozen pies in 10 minutes or less.
  3. THE FRYER. If a kitchen is serving fries with that, then the fryer is essential. The fryer can also be used to cook up appetizers and small bites, or even platters for parties. While fried food may not be the most health-conscious on the menu, many customers visiting a fun center may be willing to make some exceptions for a weekend out or special event. This is especially true for adults who also may access an on-site bar serving liquor who are looking for pub-style finger foods.
  4. THE DISHWASHER. If recycling is a concern in the state or community where a fun center operates, (California’s Bay Area is a good example), reusing dishes and silverware is one way to avoid the added cost of purchasing eco-friendly paper products and plastics. It also assures environmentally conscious guests that a center is doing its part.
