Advice for Creating Memorable Moments

The Signature Move

Owners and mangers, create your very own signature move to leaves a powerful impression. Guests recognized by owners and top management feel extra important. Picking out the birthday child and showing off your signature move adds a deposit to the TLC (tender loving care) bank account that birthday parties are all about. Creating your own signature move allows you to interact comfortably, while increasing the: “I can’t believe they did ‘All That, Just for Us’ ” feeling.
Too many owners and managers get caught up in the back office worrying about numbers, when the numbers magically appear positive, when you’re out taking care of the people part. I’ve found that many owners and top managers lack confidence and are uncomfortable interacting with guests, because they haven’t practiced it often enough. Preparation and repetition are the keys to eliminating those feelings.

Preparation

Create a special move, high five, joke, riddle or dance step only for the birthday child. What one or two lines can you say to guests to get them to smile and go beyond the boring “How was everything today?”

Repetition

Get out on the floor. Search out party kids. Have fun becoming part of the show. Create random acts of kindness and interaction. You’ll find the rest of your team will mirror your attitude. The rewards for you, your team and the guest, will be simply “remark”able! -
